Bryan Wilson serves as Grants Administrator for the Texas Indigent Defense Commission. He works with the Director and Commission to distribute approximately $30 million per year to improve indigent defense in Texas. The intent of the funds is to assist Texas counties to improve existing programs and develop new indigent defense programs. Bryan also examines the impact of grant funds. Bryan has served the courts since 1988. He started as a probation officer in the 21st and 286th District Courts (Bastrop and Hockley Counties), served as Texas Department of Criminal Justice Treatment Alternative to Incarceration Program Administrator, and Program Director for the TDCJ Office of General Counsel. Bryan also supported the Supreme Court Permanent Judicial Commission on Children Youth and Families as Grant Administrator. Bryan was born and raised in Austin, and resides with his wife in Burnet County.
