Privacy and Security Policy


The Office of Court Administration (OCA) supports and maintains several websites including Texas Courts Online. This website is for the dissemination of judicial information to the courts, their constituents, and the general public.

OCA does not collect any personally identifiable information, such as names, addresses, phone numbers or e-mail addresses as the user navigates through this site. The CaseMail feature of the web site requires that registrants provide a valid e-mail address for the purpose of delivering case and opinion updates to the registered user. These e-mail addresses are not linked to any other personally identifiable information; are not used for any purpose other than management of CaseMail accounts; are not reported or used in any manner that would reveal personally identifiable information; and are not released to any outside parties unless required by law. Registrants who need to change the e-mail address used for CaseMail can log in at https://www.supreme.courts.state.tx.us/members/members.aspx and follow the instructions. General information normally recorded in server logs is used to track the number of hits to site pages, the host sending the request, and errors that may interfere with site availability. This information is used solely for evaluating and improving website content and design.

OCA monitors network traffic to ensure site security and availability. Unauthorized attempts to upload information, change information on this site, or otherwise damage the site are strictly prohibited and may be punishable under Texas Penal Code Chapters 33 (Computer Crimes) or 33A (Telecommunications Crimes).


Case Mail

The CaseMail feature of the web site requires that registrants provide a valid e-mail address for the purpose of delivering case and opinion updates to the registered user. These e-mail addresses are:

  • not used for any purpose other than management of CaseMail accounts;
  • not reported or used in any manner that would reveal personally identifiable information;

Third Party Websites

OCA may employ third party websites such as (but not limited to) Facebook and YouTube to duplicate content in an effort to broaden that content's reach. OCA does not control any third party website and your use of those websites is in accordance with that website's privacy policy. Please take the time to read that website's privacy policy prior to using the website.
