In 2007, the 80th Legislature enacted the court security incident reporting requirements recommended by the Texas Judicial Council. [HB 1380, 80th Leg., R.S.]
Art. 102.017(f), Code of Criminal Procedure, requires the local administrative judge in each county to submit to the Office of Court Administration a written report regarding any security incident involving court security that occurs in or around a building housing a court for which the judge serves as local administrative judge not later than the third business day after the date the incident occurred.
The Office of Court Administration’s Judicial Information section collects, analyzes, and publishes information related to Texas court security incidents. Incident report data are available for FY 2008 to present.
