RSS Feeds - Getting Started
RSS ("Really Simple Syndication") is a way to publish headlines and summaries as a web feed. A feed is a compact, stripped down version of a web site that readers can subscribe to and view in a reader.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN, you must choose an RSS reader. There are generally two different types of RSS readers - one is a self contained program (such as those listed below under "Free RSS Readers") and the other is part and parcel of the web browser (e.g., IE 7). Please note that each reader has a slightly different way of adding a new feed.
The following information includes instructions on acquiring a free reader and/or how to subscribe to available Court feeds.
Internet Explorer (IE) Users
- IE 6: Internet Explorer 6.0 does not support subscribing to RSS feeds. Download an RSS Reader then copy and paste the feed's URL (listed above) to add to your feeds subscription. [Note: "How to add feeds" will be determined by the type of software you install/use. Please read the software's documentation before installing/using.]
- IE 7 & 8: Click the feed URL noted above then click Subscribe to automatically add to your RSS feeds subscription.
Free RSS Readers
To find a free RSS Reader, query 'free rss readers' or download one of the free RSS Readers noted below. Before you download and install the software, please read and follow the software's specific download and "how-to" instructions accordingly. Once you've installed the reader,copy the URL/shortcut that corresponds to the topic that interests you (see 'Available Feeds' above), then paste the URL into your reader to add.
