Next arrow not linked
As you move through this online course, you can use the 'next arrow' to move forward. In some cases, you will not be able to move forward until you answer a question correctly (you will get hints!).
Back arrow not linked
Some windows will direct you back to the previous page to make a different decision. These will have no next arrow. Hint pages will often open a second browser window, so you can go back and forth between the cheat sheet and the quiz without losing data. In this second case, the back arrow will close the second window, so you might want to use alt + the tab key to move back and forth until you are through with the window.
Help button not linked
On almost any page, to open this screen again in its own window, you may click the help button.
Netscape back button / not linked
or
IE Back Button
Some links on some pages will take you out of the course and to external sites such as web pages for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, or Texas Commission on Human Rights. When this occurs, to return to the course, use the 'back button' to return to the page that you left. Be warned that some pages will open a second browser window so that you can reference the information without losing your place. In these cases the back button will not work and the new page will need to be closed.
Netscape Bookmark Button not linked
or
I.E. favorites button not linked
If you get interrupted or called to work on a different assignment while taking an online course, use the browser's bookmark feature (favorites in I.E.) to mark where you are - it is a lot easier to do that than scroll through all the pages again.
Key for using alt keys
accesskey = alt+k
Occassionally, interactive pages in the training may have key board short cuts to help those who can not use a pointing device, although simpler pages may rely on the tab key and typing input. When alt keys are included, and would not be intuitive, use the KEYS button to open a legend of available alt key commands for that page. Note that alt keys do not work in Netscape.
Some links on some pages will open a new browser widnow with no forward or back buttons. When this happens, check the window for the information you need, and then close it. You will still be on the original page.
